Asian Classics Input Project (ACIP)Asian Classics Input Project (ACIP) is with John Campbell.
Join the Mixed Nuts live zoom event with John Campbell, this Thursday (January 13th) at 6 pm MST.

Sixty Verses on Reasoning is the most concise philosophical work by the second to third-century Indian Buddhist philosopher Nagarjuna. It is one of that master's works most often cited by Madhyamaka commentators, and it is included in the Sixfold Canon of Reason (rigs tshogs drug) which forms the textual basis for Madhyamaka studies in the Tibetan monastic curriculum.

For this Mixed Nuts Reading Club we look at verses 19-20 of Arya Nagarjuna’s treatise along with the comments by 15th century Tibetan scholar rGyal tshab Dharma Rinchen (1364 – 1432), both translated by Mixed Nuts scholar Nick Lashaw.

John Campbell, PhD is the Director of Sanskrit Preservation for the Asian Classics Input Project. A translator of Sanskrit and Tibetan texts, he holds a doctorate in Buddhist Studies from Columbia University. His new
translation of the Esoteric Community Scripture has just been published in the US by Wisdom Publications.

“Arya Nagarjuna takes us to the very heart of the project of the Middle Way School by pointing out how karma can work without existing from its own side. Please join us!”

The women at The National Library of Mongolia are thriving. Uuriintuya and Tsagaantsetseg are working as digital scanning technicians, so they are literally preserving the cultural wisdom heritage of Mongolia.

857,155 pages have been digitized so far, and we keep going. Thanks to the hard-working staff at the National Library of Mongolia, and to all the donors, we're able to keep wisdom alive!

The current staff of the project includes eight Mongolian employees based in the National Library of Mongolia and four U.S.-based staff. With support from U.S. staff, Mongolians are pulling uncatalogued volumes of texts from the NLM stacks; unwrapping them; cataloging them, and scanning them using technology provided by the project. All technology provided to the project—computers, monitors, cameras, scanners–will be donated to the National Library of Mongolia at the conclusion of the project.
